Music study is a three-way relationship between the parents, student, and teacher.
Student Responsibilities
Ask questions when unsure of the assignment and/or instructions
Be respectful towards others in the Musespeak Studio family
Regular and punctual attendance
Set up and maintain a regular practice routine (younger students will need assistance)
Be prepared for lessons
Parent/Guardian Responsibilities
Attend lessons as an observer (for younger students) or upon request (older students)
Coach/assist students in setting up their regular practice routine (younger students will need coaching throughout a practice session)
Ensure that the student has the required equipment, materials, and space to practice
Encourage and praise students for their work, and if necessary, remind them to practice
Sign up for festivals, examinations, and/or optional activities by the registration deadline
Teacher Responsibilities
Stay current on music pedagogy and technology available
Maintain musicianship skills, studio equipment, and supplies
Teach each student in a way that works with their learning style, providing a nurturing and enthusiastic learning environment
Reschedule lessons that she misses
Lesson Schedule Policy
The 2025–26 school year will run from September 8, 2025 to June 15, 2026. Monday students will receive 32 weekly lessons throughout the school year, while Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday students will receive 36 weekly lessons throughout the school year.

Fees/Payment Policy
You will receive a reminder-invoice 2–3 days prior to the 1st of each month. Tuition is due by the 5th of each month. A $25 Late Fee will be applied to tuition payments made after the 5th of the month.
Flexible Lesson Packages are offered for those who want more flexibility in scheduling. Trial packages are available for those who want to try lessons before committing to the year. Payment is due at the beginning of the Term. Lesson times can be booked through the Student Portal.
Lessons are offered in person at the Studio and online.
Please provide at least 24 hours’ advance notice for cancelled lessons. Lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ prior notice will be forfeit, except by the teacher’s discretion.
Lessons cancelled by the teacher will be rescheduled. Whenever possible, as much notice will be provided.
Eligible make-up lessons may be rescheduled to an available Flex Lesson spot or Flex Class. A maximum of three (3) eligible make-up lessons will be honoured per school year. Make-up lessons are offered only once, if a student misses or cancels a scheduled make-up lesson, the lesson will be considered completed. All make-up lessons are to be completed by July 30, 2026. Make-up lessons are not eligible for refunds.
Health & Wellness Policy
In-person lessons are not available to students experiencing symptoms of infection (cold, flu, fever, etc). Please contact the Studio to either arrange an online lesson or rescheduled lesson (Flex Lesson).
Please wash or sanitize your hands when you arrive and before you leave.
High-touch surfaces will be cleaned and disinfected frequently between lessons.
Should a student show symptoms of illness during a lesson or Studio event, they will be isolated and their parents contacted to pick them up.
In the event of a government-mandated closure, in-person lessons and events will be moved online.
Lesson Termination Policy
One month’s written notice is required to terminate lessons prior to the end of the contracted term or one month’s tuition in lieu of notice. If you discontinue lessons on or after May 1, the Studio will retain the remainder of the tuition for the school year as an Early Cancellation Fee.
The Studio reserves the right to deny an application or terminate a student’s registration due to lack of student progress as a result of poor practice habits and/or attitude, abusive behaviour, unpaid tuition, or if the teacher feels the student is better suited to another teacher, instrument, or activity. Unused tuition cheques will be returned or destroyed.
Privacy
All personal information collected by Musespeak Studio in the course of doing business with you will be kept strictly confidential. Personal information of studio families will not be shared with outside parties except when required for studio management or exam/festival/competition registration.
