Regardless of age, playing level or musical goals, Musespeak™ can work with you to develop a customized curriculum to suit your needs.

Piano Lessons

Musespeak™ offers weekly private piano lessons for beginners up to advanced students, ages five to adult. Students explore a wide range of musical styles, from classical standards such as J. S. Bach's Minuet in G and Beethoven's Für Elise to Star Wars and Super Mario Bros.

Students will learn a wide variety of skills for piano, including:

• standard note-reading
• reading a jazz lead sheet
• learn piano music chords to be able to play in a band or worship team (keyboard harmony)
• improvisation
• beginning music composition
• presentation skills
• ensemble playing
• transposition
• aural skills
• sight-reading and sight-playing

With the aid of technology, audio/visual clips can be recorded during lessons to be replayed in the comfort of a student's home. Students also have access to pre-recorded drum grooves and Practicing 101 videos to assist with at-home practice.

Three piano group classes are scheduled in the Studio Calendar. These may take the form of a field trip, a composing workshop or performance class. Two to three Optional Activities will be organized throughout the year, providing there is enough interest (e.g. tour of Cantos Keyboard Museum).

Annual recitals are held in January and May/June. There are countless other performing opportunities that students can take advantage of throughout the year, such as piano examinations, music festivals, outside master classes and piano camps.

Whether you're preparing for an RCM piano examination or a Conservatory Canada exam, or whether you want to start your own band or simply play in the privacy of your own home, we can nurture your musical spirit through piano music lessons.

Students may choose to register for 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 minute lessons.

Music Theory Lessons

Musespeak™ offers weekly private lessons in Royal Conservatory Preliminary Rudiments, Intermediate Rudiments and Advanced Rudiments, as well as Conservatory Canada Theory 1, 2 and 3.

Students can register for 30, 45 or 60 minute lessons.

Summer Programs

The studio is pleased to offer four exciting summer workshops: Composing 101, Introduction to Home Audio Recording, Junior Keyboard Combo and Advanced Keyboard Combo. Please visit the Summer Programs page for more information.

2011/12 Registration

The studio is currently processing re-enrolment by current Musespeak students. New registrations for 2011/12 are welcome after June 10, 2011. Contact us for more information or to set up an audition-interview.
