(updated 07/18/08) Meet Musespeak™ | Meet Euterpe | Meet Calliope | Meet Maestro Musespeak aims to foster an appreciation for the arts and fuel creative expression through piano instruction, music theory lessons, music performance and writing to individuals who want to enhance their creative expression and deepen their knowledge of the arts. Musespeak is based in Calgary, Alberta and is owned and operated by Rhona-Mae Arca, B.A., B.Mgt., A.R.C.T., R.M.T. "Euterpe" [pronounced yoo-TUR-pay] is Rhona-Mae's music alter ego. Rhona-Mae has honed her skills as a solo pianist and accompanist for almost 30 years. She has participated in a work/study tour of Russia, the Ukraine and Belarus in Management and Music and was a two-time competitor in the Alberta Provincial Music Festival. Rhona-Mae has performed in master classes for Gregg Pauley (1996 Honens Laureate) and Charles Foreman. She has
performed at weddings and corporate receptions since 1986. Rhona-Mae teaches students five years old and older and from beginner to advanced. Students have the option of following the Royal Conservatory of Music or Conservatory Canada (traditional or Contemporary Idioms) programs or to study recreationally. Regardless of the path, Rhona-Mae strives to expose her students to a wide variety of music and styles. Ensemble playing, composing, improvising and playing from a lead sheet are also encouraged at Musespeak™. She has a B.A. in Music and B. Mgt. (University of Lethbridge) and an ARCT Diploma in Piano Performance (Royal Conservatory of Music, First Class Honours). Visit the Portfolio Page for Rhona-Mae's résumé and portfolio. Maestro is Musespeak™'s four-legged teaching assistant. Upon your arrival, Maestro will make sure that you are settled and ready for your lesson. He provides comic relief, calms everyone's nerves and loves to accompany students at group classes by singing or playing on the bongos. He takes his role seriously - from inspecting all the student prizes to "instructing" a student to start playing a song. Maestro's CKC name is "Caliente's Music Man". The breeder dubbed him "Music Man" because he sang along with the radio. Maestro is a Lakeland Terrier. |
